Bliss, Mason, pumpkins

Blissful Friday…….

It’s a beautiful Friday and the temp this morning was 46 degrees in my area of the world. The sun is shining, I’m on vacation, and all is right with my world for a while! Since the past few days were rainy, the sun is especially welcoming today and it inspires me to get my projects going today. Of course, Mason just wants my lap, so I sit down and oblige him occasionally.

I visited the local farmer’s market the other day to pick up some pumpkins and saw this creative use of corn stalks:

I bought some hay and pumpkins to go in my little buggy in the front yard. Who knew a bale was so heavy (farmers I guess, huh?).

Well, up and at ’em to get some more bliss soaked in today. Mason will still be waiting when I get tired again. Hope you find your bliss today.

A Fall Visit Down the Hill ……….

It’s mid-October and although I’m almost through with my fall decorating, I simply go visit my children’s house and get to enjoy their decorating too. From the pumpkins, mums, wreath and welcoming glowing lantern, you step inside to the wonderful fall fragrance and more lighted candles.

Isn’t it interesting how decorations and fall colors look so different in different homes with different color backgrounds!

Now, back to my home on a hill, I’m working on another project. In my upstairs bonus room I have my mom’s maple table and enjoy putting framed pictures on it. Even though the room is mostly under-used, I do like to “fluff” it up for the holidays. I’ve had my eye on a burlap tablecloth from Ballard’s:

After a girls’ trip to Atlanta this weekend, I was finally able to visit the Ballard outlet and check out the burlap tablecloths in person. Wouldn’t you know that Carrie came home with great bargains, but old mom got that tablecloth she had been looking at. Holla! I’ll update you with pictures when I finish upstairs! Have a glorious week!

Another Fall Day

This week has been a tremendously difficult week. Our faculty and staff went through a tragic loss and one dear teacher’s life will be forever changed. There’s so much pain, loss, and devastation in the world, and comfort and love is more important than ever. But, at the same time, God’s grace and mercy is even more abundant. ┬áHe paints the world in brilliant colors at this time of the year, and I’m personally reminded that in spite of all this, He’s still in control!
